I want to cut out part of the picture. I see it done in the demo. But I don't see how to do it.

@Carol and @Katybeth, cropping is not currently supported.  We know editing features like this are important and plan to include it in the Desktop when we can, but at this time we've been consumed some higher priority projects like getting Windows out the door.

So, it's on the list we just don't have any timeline for it.

I'm going to move this to the Feedback and Feature Requests forum, so others can vote on it; we use those votes to help us prioritize new features and functionality.

Really windows users aren't creative. I think you just wasted your priorities.

I've found that if you manipulate the image to your satisfaction in the Lytro desktop that you can export the photo to .jpeg, open the image in phot manipulation program such as Gimp (free) and the image can be cropped and manipulated like any other photo.  I have done some colorized balck and whites this way whith stunning results.

I use the Lytro for microscopy.  Cropping indeed would be advantages.  I hope that cropping function on the desktop becomes available...  As you may know the Lytro optics are poor for microscopy... the optic  are not suitable.. one is stuck with this optic train.... one sees a circle with the image surround by black... sometimes the circle is only 1/3 the whole pic... cropping function is definitely need on the desktop.   How about a digital zoom on the Lytro to crop the image?

A "ZOOM/CROP" should be easy enough to create...let LYTRO establish a "Frame" then we could ZOOM inside of it until the distracting element disappears, and CONTROL CLICK to save new pic "as is"...thus never destroying the ORIGINAL.
