I'm having the same issue. I have an 11 inch MBA late 2010 running OS X 10.7.3 with 4GB Ram. In fact all I get are the black and white pictures with spinning circles. Each picture takes 5-8 minutes to load.

I'll follow up with each of you to request a screenshot of your activity monitor; we need to understand better what's going on with your memory usage and system particulars (I'm interested in seeing what else may be taking up system resources).
Thanks
I'm having the same issue. Mine is mid 2010 MBP with OS X 10.7.3, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Due, 8 GB RAM. It took about 3-5 minutes to load one picture. I can't image how long it will take if I get whole full pictures (750)
Shawn,
Would you take 10 pictures (it doesn't matter of what) and let me know how long it took from the time you started transferring them, to the time all pictures completed processing (all in color and no more spinning icons)? One picture is not a good judge of this.
I test the process again, it took 4 minutes and 4 seconds with 10 picture, 4 minutes and 3 seconds with 10 picture, 7 minutes and 44 seconds with 20 pictures. I think it might be some problem with my computer this morning.
Wow! This "converting" or whatever is really slow on my iMac. Screenshot posted now. only 36 pictures.

Yeah, I have the same issue!
I'm having a very similar problem. It'll say that the download from the camera is complete, yet half of the new photos are still in b/w with the spinner.
Mac Mini 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR2 with 80 gig on the hard drive. I have the 16gb red Lytro.
I have found that by double-clicking on one of the b/w spinner photos I can make it go ahead and come up color, but doing that to 10 out of 20 photos takes quite a while!
Hi folks, you'll note that KB is now private; please pardon us while we clarify some things and re-publish >;-).
OK, we're back! If you're having this problem, please see:
