Is there a way to share a story or image that are not public?

It would be nice to be able to mark something as private, but still allow people to view it if they are given a link.

Additionally (and that is less likely to happen as it brings a lot of complication) - it would be nice, especially with already some level of "trust" between you guys and facebook, to share a single image from a private story, without a need to make it public... or ability for user to look at the rest of the story.

Another option would be to allow private images to be "exported" or "linekd" to a "semi-public" folder that would only allow a logged in owner to view them all, but would allow access to a single image through the link shared by the user - that one would allow both - facebook or otherwise sharing, while not allowing unauthorized people to that through them....

Sorry - just brainstorming here ;) It all came to be after sharing some LYTRO pics involving a gun, and the family getting up in arms... By making it private I am not even able to show it to the person on the picture till we visit him the next time... So I am just thinking of "tricks" to resolve such issues in the future. Some ideas are sort of  "rooted" in using Picasa, since I heavily use that to share images with fam over the pond.

Thx.

Well! I just ran a test, and here's what I found.. and I do not understand how it happened:

1. I have a story that is NOT marked public.

2. When I try the link in "another browser" it says it's private - as I meant it.

3. I browse, as I am logged in, to one of the images and click share, then share to facebook.

4. Now anyone who can see my wall can click the image and play - that is nice...

5. Anyone who clicks on that link - can browse the whole priivate gallery - that is not something I was hoping for.

If it was not for step 5, I'd actually consider it a GREAT fature, that I could live with in light of my comments in the original post.

Would be cool if other could confirm this behavior, and if LYTRO could elaborate on weather this is 100% as designed, or could the change be made to limit people to seeing only this one photo, not the whole gallery. I can still use this idea by creating a separate story for each private image I want to share to FB.. but I guess it's a bit "messy"; and works only for FB as far as I can tell....

Adam; that explains it. Would be nice to have an option to not share "whole story" , but still, this gives me an option to share "private" images. Thx.
