i installed your lytro software to my macbook air.  i took pics with the lytro and connected it to my mac. i have to manually turn on the lytro application as it does not do so automatically.  when i do , it says : "no pictures to display" !!!  I disconnected and reconnected the camera multiple times and still no use, same error.

Now what ?? I waited 4 months only to get this ?????

Zaid,

Let's start at the beginning.  It sounds like the camera is not being seen by Lytro Desktop; when you first plugged your camera directly into the USB port on your MBA, you should have been offered to install Lytro Desktop.  Please make sure you are plugging directly into the USB port on your Mac, not via a USB hub.

If:

  1.  You were not offered the Lytro Desktop software the very first time you plugged your camera directly into your Mac
  2.  You then downloaded and installed the software from our website
  3. When Lytro Desktop is shut down, it does not start up automatically when you plug your camera directly into the MBA USB port
Than this is the problem we need to figgure out.  Would you please confirm this is where we're at?

Do you have an alternate USB cable to try out just to be sure that is not the problem?

Let me add to this topic.  I just received my Lytro and plugged the camera into my MBP and then I waited and waited and waited.  Nothing happened.  The Desktop software installation never happened and I still can't figure out how to find the desktop software.  I tried a different USB cable but still nothing.  The desktop software did not automatically install itself.  Is there something wrong with the camera, software/firmware, or cable?

Thanks!

Terry,

When you plug your camera into your MBP, does the camera turn on?  Does the touchscreen display anything?

Hi Adam,

Good question.  I'm not sure if my camera was initially turned on or not but after it was connected, I saw that it was on since it showed the Battery Level.  I want to assume it was on when I plugged it in for the first time though.

But for now, I've already downloaded the software from your website.

Similar situation with Windows PC.  The camera says it is connected to the computer, but nothing happens.  I installed the computer software before I received the camera, and when I opened it to try seeing my pictures, it updated itself to the new version.  My PC sees the camera in explorer mode, but the lytro desktop software says there are no pictures to view.

Hi Eric,

Please feel free to answer the same questions Adam asked at the very beginning of this thread.

Alternately, you can "Open a Support Ticket" using the blue text link at the end of the original post.
