New software failed

Cindy Herbert
asked this on April 28, 2012 05:20 am

I upgraded the laptop software yesterday.  Today I got a message to upgrade the camera.  This software load failed.  I have not gotten the opportunity to retry to upgrade the camera.  Can you email mail the upgrade or is there a place on your website to get software?

Thanks!

Same exact thing happened to me!  Would love an upgrade patch mailed to me, if possible

Thanks!

Cindy & Caren, would you please confirm the camera software version you're each now running:

Swipe up from the very bottom of the touchscreen to access the General Control Drawer, then touch the "gear" icon, then select "About", and you'll see the "Software version" listed there.

Mine failed too, but it is at 1.0.1. So it did not really fail. For some reason when I was told to remove and reattach the USB, the software decided it had an issue. Everything looks happy though, and the above test confirms it.

Thank you for reporting in, Greg!  We're seeing this "failed software that didn't fail" a bit, so please check your actual version and let us know if it's a real fail or not.

Had the same thing happen on Sunday (new camera software said it failed).  I took a few more pictures and it worked fine so I set it aside.  just checked tonight and its at v 1.0.1 so I guess all is good.

Same thing happened to me. The camera says the software is version 1.0.1, does that mean the update didn't really fail?

Same error message for me. If I'm at verion 1.0.1 on the camera, do I have the latest?

As of this writing, 1.0.1 is the latest, so despite the error message both of you did indeed successfully update.  We're aware of this bug and working on it...

I'm on a Mac (10.7.4) and I just installed Lytro desktop (1.0.0) and it told me I should update to 1.0.1.  It downloads the update, tries to install and restart, but keeps coming back at 1.0.0.  Is there a link to the download, or something I'm missing?

Thanks,

Update on camera apparently did not fail - have not given it a workout - but the desktop is non functional.  No drop-downs, no focus shifts after processing, etc.
