How do I view Perspective Shift?

A) Here are the steps for a web browser on a computer-- for Lytro Web (pictures.lytro.com) or another website:

  1. Wait for the picture to load.
  2. To enter Perspective Shift, click and drag your mouse across the picture once. Then release your mouse button.
  3. Then move the mouse over the picture (without clicking) to explore Perspective Shift. Try moving your mouse in a circle, or moving your mouse diagonally from corner to corner.  
    • TIP: Try waiting a few seconds for smoothest performance.
  4. Leave Perspective Shift and return to the normal refocus mode by clicking once anywhere in the picture.
 
 
B) Here are the steps for an iPad, iPhone or Android device-- for Lytro Web (pictures.lytro.com) or another website:
  1. Wait for the picture to load.
  2. To enter Perspective Shift, drag your finger across the picture. 
  3. Try moving your finger in a circle, or moving your finger diagonally from corner to corner. 
    • TIPS: 
      • Try waiting a few seconds for smoothest performance.
      • Try tilting the device to use your accelerometer to explore Perspective Shift, too!
  4. Leave Perspective Shift and return to the normal refocus mode by tapping once anywhere in the picture.
 



C) Here are the steps for viewing perspective shift in Lytro Desktop:

  1. Open Lytro Desktop
  2. Select a living picture thumbnail and bring it up in 'Single Picture View'
  3. Click and then move your mouse over the picture to explore Perspective Shift.  Release the mouse to return to the normal refocus mode. Try moving your mouse in a circle, or moving your mouse diagonally from corner to corner.  
    • TIP: Try waiting a few seconds for smoothest performance.
